Library of Resources: Disclosure of Information and Media Coverage of Criminal Cases

The Library of Resources: Disclosure of Information and Media Coverage of Criminal Cases has the objective of providing background information and contextual data for all interested stakeholders on the relationship between the criminal justice system and the traditional, electronic and social media. The Library includes entries such as studies and reports, national and international standards and guidelines, academic and online media articles, as well as country-specific sections, covering national legislation and critical evaluation of laws and practices. This collection is supplemented by resources pertaining to the main technological challenges to the criminal justice system posed by different types of media and media content, from social media to fake news and disinformation. The Library also provides a brief overview of the relevant rights of the suspects and accused, and opens up analytical space for engagement with the modern-day problematics in the nexus between the state, the suspects and accused, the victims, and the witnesses, and the utilization of technology and the media.
