ARISA Newsletter #5
The ARISA Newsletter is a periodic bulletin offering information on recent developments related to the media coverage of criminal cases and its impact on suspects and accused persons. The January issue of the newsletter presents the latest publications produced under the ARISA-2 project. Communication guidelines were developed to assist criminal justice authorities to properly communicate information about ongoing criminal cases to the media or online on their websites, and thus to prevent them from violating the presumption of innocence of the suspects and accused. Second publication presents a set of Ethical standards for media professionals providing general recommendations for reporting on criminal cases while observing the presumption of innocence and the privacy of suspects and accused and their families.
